Closing the Gap - Navigating the Chinese Language
2019-05-10

Asithandile Nkatha and Tildie Stapelberg are studying Chinese at Beijing Language and Culture University. They have many South African friends who are studying Chinese at different universities across the Chinese capital.

Liso Zape worked at a national government department in South Africa before winning a full scholarship and coming to study at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Siyabulela Releni studies at the Central University of Finance and Economics. He thinks that Chinese is the world’s most interesting language. Kelebogile Mkhabela has gone on different field trips with her classmates at Capital University of Economics and Business. And Sinethemba Mnguni came to China to learn the Chinese language and to teach English.

These six international students have faith that being able to communicate in Chinese would be a beneficial skill, and are striving to master the language.
