Song Yuanwen, 85, belongs to the second generation of modern Chinese lithography artists. He entered the Central Academy of Fine Arts in the 1950s and after graduation, he taught there for decades.
Song on one hand passes on the legacy of first-generation artists of print that is dedicated to depicting people's life in a realistic style. Also, he helps cultivate a new generation of artists who usher China's lithography into a contemporary age.
Song's works are on show Spiritual Journey, an exhibition at Central Academy of Fine Arts' museum through Jan 3, 2019, marking his commitment to creation and education.
