The event paid tribute to the just deceased martial arts novelist Louis Cha, who is known by his pen name Jin Yong, for his contributions to the Chinese kung fu. Besides, the event also advocated healthy lifestyle and physical fitness.

Foshan is a major cradle of the south school martial arts, and the Nanshan town, where Nandan Mountain is located, is one of the birthplaces of dragon-style kung fu.
