Copeland posed alongside Mackenzie Foy, who has the lead role as Clara in the film. 36-year-old Copeland became the first black principal ballerina at the esteemed ABT three years ago.

"'The Nutcracker' was the first ballet I ever saw. It was the first ballet I ever danced in. So it just feels like my life has kind of come full circle and it's really exciting."

17-year-old Foy first appeared on screens as the daughter of Bella and Edward in the "Twilight" movies. She loved the elaborate "Nutcracker" sets.

"What's really unique about this film is that it was incredibly practical. So a lot of what you see actually existed. And so being able to walk on the set and know that your surroundings were real, that you could really interact with them. Like, even, like, in the courtyard scene, there's a working portcullis. Like oh my goodness! And there was real fountains and flowers and it was just absolutely beautiful".

"The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" hits theaters in the U.S. on Friday, November 2.
