BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhuanet) -- British police have formally charged a second man with the murder of a serving soldier on a London street.
28 year old Michael Adebolajo also faces other charges related to the killing on May 22nd, including the attempted murder of two police officers, and possession of a gun. Adebolajo was remanded in custody to appear in court on Monday. Another man, 22 year old Michael Adebowale will also appear in court on Monday, for a bail hearing. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled at the Old Bailey on June 28th.
Both men were shot by police in Woolwich, after the soldier, Lee Rigby, was stabbed and hacked to death in broad daylight. The suspects were both discharged from hospital this week. A post-mortem concluded that the victim died from multiple cuts and stab wounds.
