Li Brocade from Wuzhishan city, Hainan province made its debut at the 2025 Spring/Summer Paris Fashion Week, captivating international audiences with its intricate designs and rich cultural heritage.
The Vivienne Tam X Li Ethnic Group 2025 Spring/Summer Paris Fashion Week show, a collaboration between international fashion designer Vivienne Tam and Wuzhishan city was held in Paris, on Friday.
The show featured Li Brocade, often referred to as the "living fossil" of Chinese textiles, renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage. The Li Brocade took center stage at the show, earning acclaim from international audiences and adding a unique touch of Eastern charm to the international fashion event.
At the fashion show, Tam unveiled the 2025 Spring/Summer "LA Li" collection. Drawing inspiration from the tropical rainforest vegetation, diverse wildlife and cosmic energy of Wuzhishan, the collection features 10 unique designs incorporating Li Brocade elements. This launch is seen as a significant step in introducing Li Brocade to the global market.
China's "wild countryside model", Lu Kaigang, better known by his stage name Lu Xianren, walked the runway wearing attire featuring Li Brocade elements. "For today's young people, it's essential to innovate and boldly showcase our heritage, letting the world know about China's Li Brocade and intangible cultural heritage," said Lu, who participated in the show.
