Edible wild herbs, leather pieces, tree barks and grass, these were some of the "food" which once helped Red Army soldiers survive the Long March. They are also the subjects of depiction in a collection of 100 oil paintings, titled Recipe of Red Army, by students of the Central Academy of Fine Arts inspired by a journey in 2016 to Sichuan province that Red Army troops passed through during the Long March.

The paintings are now on show at Art in Kung Fu, an exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of the foundation program at CAFA's School of Fine Art.

The exhibition until May 1 shows paintings, drawings, sketches and sculptures by students from the program throughout years. Many of them were works by those who are now noted artists.
