Prince Kung museum embroidery exhibit on show in Tokyo

The Prince Kung's Palace Museum Folk Embroidery Art Exhibition opened at the Chinese Cultural Center in Tokyo on Oct 8.

This exhibition includes more than 100 modern folk embroidery works collected by Prince Kung's Palace Museum. Embroidery pieces, capes, pouches, earmuffs and children's traditional belly wraps with exquisite embroidery and made using various needle methods are featured.

Shi Yongjing, counselor of the Cultural Department of the Embassy of China in Japan, highly praised the exhibition. She pointed out that Prince Kung's Palace Museum is a profound historical building in China, and appears in major movies and TV plays. The museum has very high standing among the Chinese people.

Shi added that there are many other embroidery exhibitions in Japan, but this exhibit is very characteristic and of high quality.
