Chinese scientists have made a breakthrough in converting carbon dioxide into liquid fuels and other valuable chemicals under mild conditions through the use of light and electricity, reports Science and Technology Daily.
Moreover, the whole conversion process has zero discharge of additional waste.

The research results have been published as hotspot cover essays in well-known magazines like Angewandte Chemie International Edition and Energy and Environmental Science.
It took the research team led by Professor Gong Jinlong from Tianjin University over three years to develop this conversion process.
