Chinese cities have been fully geared in recent years to promote their unique local culture overseas through diverse cultural activities, such as exhibitions and performances. 1 China's Mount Huangshan woos global tourists in NYC
A tourist promotional event featuring China's Mount Huangshan, or the Yellow Mountain, was held at New York City's World Trade Center (WTC) in May this year, to demonstrate the charm of this renowned tourist destination.
Featuring photo displays, local opera performances and a Chinese tea ceremony show inside the Oculus, a transportation hub and shopping mall of the new WTC, the event made a comprehensive presentation of the scenery and cultural connotations of Mount Huangshan.
2 Guangxi tourism promotion show wins acclaim at UN headquarters
Picturesque rivers and mountains, silver beaches, an open-air banquet held by dressed-up minority groups, a smiling old lady sitting at the doorway of her home in "Longevity Village"...
These are just a few of the dozens of pictures exhibited at a recent tourism show featuring the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region of China, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Apart from the exhibition of pictures, the promotion show included a video of sceneries and ethnic cultures, a presentation punctuated with rewarded Q&A activities, and an introduction of airlines, attracting some 150 participants from governments, the tourism industry, airline companies and media, from both China and the United States.
3 China's Chongqing culture, landscape showcased in New Zealand
An exhibition on prints and landscape in China's Chongqing municipality opened in Auckland on July 10th, 2019, offering visitors a great opportunity to know the unique culture in southwest China.
More than 100 local residents and guests participated in the exhibition, featured with over 60 paintings by farmers from Chongqing's Qijiang county and more than 30 photos of Nanchuan World Natural Heritage Scenery.
The event is hosted by China Cultural Center in Wellington and Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development.
New Zealand's artist Sylvia Williams said that the paintings showcased Chinese people's talent and profound Chinese civilization. She enjoyed the exhibition and would like to go to Chongqing for further exploration.
